German Finance Minister: Questionable Whether All European States Should Be In Euro

Aachen, Germany — German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble expressed reservations Wednesday about including all European countries in the euro zone, suggesting membership should be reserved to competitive countries like Germany.

"Greece undeniably belongs to Europe, [but] whether every European state is also a member of the currency union...that is a question," Schaeuble said in a speech in this north German town. "It is a question that the Greek people in these days and weeks are addressing in a very difficult way."
