Iceland, Economists Make Pitch For Adoption Of Canadian Dollar
Iceland could replace its currency, the krona, with the Canadian dollar in as little time as a weekend, and the move would help stabilize the small northern country's shaky economy, a pair of Icelandic economists said Tuesday.
Although Iceland isn't planning any formal talks with Canada on the matter and has said it plans to adopt the euro if it succeeds in joining the European Union, the idea of adopting the Canadian dollar shouldn't be discounted, said Icelandic economists Heidar Gudjonsson and Arsaell Valfells at an event in Toronto.
