Iraq: Agreement to form a joint committee for the selection of a draft law of oil and gas

Baghdad, revealed to the Commission on oil and energy parliamentary agreement on the formation of a joint committee with the legal representative for the selection of a draft of the three are rated for oil and gas law in Iraq.

He said the Commission's decision to Muhammad Qasim (Brief Center for the Iraqi Media Network) that "it was agreed during a meeting with the Legal Committee to form a joint committee made up of ten members to gain access to the mechanism of consensus to approve the law of oil and gas."

He added that the Commission "will examine and scrutinize in three drafts leading to the selection of draft and one private oil and gas."

There are three drafts of the law of oil and gas have not been agreed so far, a version prepared in 2007, and another provided by the Iraqi government, and the third was prepared in the parliamentary Committee for the oil and energy.

The representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler yesterday revealed the formation of a team to follow up checks on ratification of the oil and gas after the Eid holiday.

The law of oil and gas from the main outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil, the House of Representatives did not succeed the former and current from resolved and consensus on a common formula for the oil and gas law.
