Baghdad, Ministry of Finance said that it presented to the Iraqi Minister of Economy and Finance Project Arabs currency union between the Arab countries at the meeting held the first Tuesday in Baghdad in the context of economic preparing files to be presented to Arab leaders at their summit on Thursday.
He said Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi told a news conference held on the sidelines of the Ministers of Economy and Finance Arabs: "The Iraqi delegation to introduce a single currency at a meeting of Arab ministers of economy and the similarity of the euro for the EU."
He explained that "this project, if implemented, will enhance the ability of Arab countries will address the economic problems of inflation and unemployment and economic slack that has plagued Iraq and a number of Arab countries."
He pointed out that "The meeting also discussed the obstacles to build a dry canal link between the Arab countries in addition to providing Iraq with 150 megawatts of electricity through the line of Eight."
