The Greek parliament appointed Antonis Samaras as prime minister after his New Democracy party--the winner of Sunday's parliamentary elections--formed a coalition government (Guardian) with the Socialist Pasok and the Democratic Left parties.
New Democracy's victory is a reprieve for the euro, but eurozone leaders must still grapple with systemic fixes.
