June 28, 2012 - June 29, 2012 - The International Arab Banking Summit IABS 2012 the Change

Berlin, The recent developments and changes witnessed by the Arab region have formed a novelty element for global change. However, it would not be complete without the creation of a civil community that respects and protects all elements of society in the framework of equality amongst all, in terms of rights and duties.

Change from an economic and social perspective aims eventually at achieving economic growth and advancement, better living standards, and enhancing the social security networks for the weaker segments of society. This in addition to facing tomorrow’s challenges and providing better job opportunities to face multi challenges in the Arab world, particularly the need to establish more than 50 million job opportunities within the next decade to accommodate the young newcomers into the labor market.

Some countries have achieved over the course of three to four decades what others have failed to accomplishing a whole century, reaching distinguished positions and leading them to become financial, touristic and media hubs.

There is no doubt that change entails a painful process, but without change, disappointment and recession become inevitable. From here comes the theme of our International Summit under the controversial yet strong title ‘The CHANGE’, as we realize the difficult stages that follow, and the need to have the will to take the right path in order to provide better opportunities for the uprising youth, who has nowadays gained vast capabilities through the fastly evolving technology and the widespread ICT
