29/07/2012Iraq concluded a new agreement worth 500 million dollars with Kuwait to close the file attachment
Baghdad/features & status of the Iraqi media network-Ministry of transport announced that its Minister Hadi al-Amri signed a new agreement with the Kuwaiti Communications Minister to Iraq to pay 500 million dollars in two instalments for lift Kuwait seized Iraqi Airways, indicating that Kuwait had decided in principle to freeze the lawsuit against Iraqi Airways.
He said Undersecretary banks rikani (features & status of the Iraqi media network) "was signed between IAC and Kuwaiti ruled Iraq to pay $ 500 million in cash as compensation for Kuwait to repay $ 300 million this year and will pay $ 200 million during the three months of next year."
He added that "the new agreement rikani abolished the previous agreement which included a Kuwait investment of 200 million dollars in compensation from Iraq," he said, adding that "Kuwait has decided to freeze the suit the IAC in Britain initially."
"The release of the Iraqi Airways will be after the Kuwaiti Parliament's vote on the accord."
The two sides announced Iraqi and Kuwaiti March from their agreement worth 500 million dollars to settle debts dating back to the 1991 Gulf war, Iraqi Airways barred from flying to the West and the payment of $ 300 million in cash to Kuwait and $ 200 million to establish a common airlines.
