July 8, 2012Commission unveils draft tripartite agreement to delete zeros from currency
Baghdad/features & status of the Iraqi media network-a member of the parliamentary Finance Committee that all the parties involved to study draft deleted currency zeros are consistent with each other and there is no objection to the project.
Secretary Hadi (features & status of the Iraqi media network) that his Committee "and the Ministry of finance and the Central Bank does not have any problem to delete the three zeros from the currency as a project aimed at improving the economy".
Hadi added that "Finance Committee recommended that the Ministry of finance and the Central Bank to develop a plan to ensure no new counterfeit currency into or out of the country", stating that "the Central Bank has been able to answer queries raised by all parties concerned on draft delete zeros".
The Government last week decided to wait to apply the draft delete zeros from currency as a result of what it called "the expected economic problems occurred as a result of the deletion of zeros.
Finance Committee revealed in Parliament on the budget next year will be in the new currency, with the Central Bank stressed that he needs two years to replace all the currency in Iraq.
