Political blocs must deal positively with NA's reform paper, says SLC

ERBIL, The State of Law Coalition (SLC) led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki stated today that the political partners must deal positively with the reform paper submitted by the National Alliance (NA) to solve the current crisis in the country.

Head of the NA Ibrahim al-Jaafari revealed yesterday about the completion of a political reform paper prepared by the committee set up for this purpose, and called for direct negotiation with all political blocs about the outstanding issues.

Abdul Salam al-Maliki said in a statement: "The NA is ready to listen to the arguments of all partners to reach the results that serve the Iraqi people and provide security and services to them."

Member of the NA Mohammed Damhadi said earlier on Sunday that the alliance began moves to end the current crisis, noting that he sent delegations to the Kurdish Blocs Coalition and Iraqiya List to present the reform paper.

Maliki added: "The reform paper of the NA includes all the perceptions that can be discussed about the problems that need constitutional amendments and do not represent a violation or encroachment upon the rights of the Iraqi people in general."

The political crisis increased in the country recently, especially after the issuance of an arrest warrant against Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, the decision to dismiss Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq from his office and the oil crisis between Baghdad and Erbil.
