U.S. Secretary of Defense consistent with the King of Jordan on the need to Assad's departure
A spokesman for Leon Panetta, U.S. Secretary of Defense to King Abdullah II of Jordan, the American minister had agreed on the need for the departure of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The statement came after a U.S. spokesman Panetta meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Amman, where he arrived after a regional tour started in Tunisia and then went to Egypt and then to Israel and then concludes his tour of Jordan.
The Panetta told reporters traveling with him before his plane landed at Marka Military Airport in Jordan, our nations are worried that what is happening in Syria and the repercussions that may result from the stability in the region.
He added that the United States is working closely with the Jordanians to provide humanitarian assistance to refugees in Syria.
He stressed that the U.S. Defense Department reached an unprecedented level of cooperation with the Jordanian army, he said, adding that this is a way through which access to the largest possible rapprochement between the two countries to deal with any emergency occurs in Syria.
